I missed part of last Wednesday’s meeting due to a 2 year long commitment to share the House Valedictory Celebrations with my Ebony form. I had had a 4 year connection with them from Yr 7 – 10 and now in Yr 12 they have matured into wonderful young adults who will do very well into the future. (The group includes Eliza Barry, our RE student who spent last year in Denmark)
Thank you to Jan for delivering some important messages from District.
At the end Jan asked me to make an important announcement – which I promptly forgot! It was:
To all knitters – April and Dawn (House of Angels) would like donations of woollen beanies and/or squares to be made into blankets. Please bring them to Greg at Rotary or deliver them to April at helloWorld, Waurnponds.
Thank you to Ken, Graeme and Bill who helped out at Probus, Thursday 8th October. It is very obvious that Margaret (District Chair of the Probus Committee) has amazing intuitive/observational skills, and in persuading people to become office bearers, she has established an enthusiastic and skilled executive to lead the Club. I inducted the office bearers and presented the Club with a gong and their accreditation certificate. Their next meeting is November 12th, after which Ken and I will be able to step back!
The Dinner Auction was once again an outstanding success with an estimated profit of $19000. A huge thank you to all Club members and partners who contributed in anyway – by making donations, seeking donations, inviting guests, helping with the set up in the morning, attending in the evening. In particular, THANK YOU to Paul and Rhonda who have put in a huge amount of time huge and effort to organise the Dinner Auction.
Next week, Club Assembly and Board so please come along with your ideas for discussion in Committee.
