President's Ponderings
Wednesday 11 September
Meeting Number 1991
Instead of meeting on Friday 13 September we will have a casual meal in the Sports Bar at the Grovedale Hotel on Wednesday 11 September, from 6pm. Is there a lack of interest in attending because of the football? PLEASE RESPOND TO WHOOZIN TO ENABLE A BOOKING TO BE MADE FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE GROVEDALE.
Geelong District Rotary Clubs are having an "End Polio" Movie Night Fundraiser on Friday 20 September at Readings Waurn Ponds. The film is "Ride like a girl" - the story of Michelle Payne. Tickets cost $21 pp and are available until 13 September through Trybooking. Hopefully members, family and friends will make this a very profitable night. There will also be a raffle to boost funds for Rotary Foundation. The Board has agreed to donate a $100 voucher from Bunnings. Have you made a booking yet?
The next meeting at Rice Village on Wednesday 18 September will be a Business Meeting. This will allow Paul and his Committee to finalize arrangements for the Dinner Auction and also for any Directors to report on Committee activities. It will be followed by a Board Meeting.
On Wednesday 25 September there will be a combined meeting with Belmont at Rice Village to celebrate the end of the 2019 AFL season. Optional football dress code is welcome!
Friday 4 October is the date for the Annual Dinner Auction. It is to be held at Capri Receptions in Pakington Street Geelong West and is our major fundraiser. Please help Paul and his committee in finding donations for the silent and main auction. Think about ideas which could be beneficial - sponsors and friends who might be able to attend. Have you given a list of donations to Paul?
Thank you Lesley for organizing the visit of Bala and Roma Murthy last week. What a fabulous presentation! Laughing yoga certainly proved to be a lot of fun. Have you been practising? Copies of his presentation will be available shortly.
Until next time - Stay Safe and Enjoy Rotary
