          Happy New Year everyone. As with last year, the most important thing for our club this year is MEMBERSHIP. In 2016 we were very fortunate and privileged to welcome five new Rotarians to our club but don’t forget, membership is a fluid thing and unfortunately we also lose members for many different reasons. If there is anyone you think may be suitable speak to Chris.

         Our last meeting on December 21^st was a ripper, we inducted two members (Cheryle & Peter); it was terrific to see friends, partners, children and grandchildren at this event, a happy end to the year. I think there were about 65 present

         Thanks Don for organising the caterer, once again he has done a great job.

         Thanks Jan and her helpers for organising the visits to the elderly in the district, your visits and the little gifts they receive must mean an awful lot to them. Thanks Paul for getting the gifts.

         Jan thanks once again for organising the gifts for our wonderful staff and volunteers at Rice Village.

         A very special thank you to Bob Arnup, (has answered to Barby Bob)since November Bob has organised seven BBQ’s including a very difficult but very rewarding three at Bunnings (Xmas eve), Geelong races (Boxing Day) and Bunnings (Dec 27) these three events alone have raised more than $3000.00 for our club.

         Thank you to all the members, partners, friends, one from distant Townsville and Rotaractors who made this terrific achievement possible.

When a club can pitch in and support events at difficult and inconvenient times it shows you are a great club.

           Further on the BBQ front, with Lesley’s help I have applied for a grant of $4,800.00 for a new trailer, lets’ hope we get it.

           Our next meeting on January 11^th is a normal meeting and will be followed by our annual joint meeting with Torquay at RICE VILLAGE.
